Discover T.J.'s Journey
T.J. first discovered her love for ballet at a local dance studio in Kitchener/Waterloo, Canada. At the age of 9, she was defining her studies in classical ballet at The Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and continued on to graduate from the Kirov Academy of Ballet, in Washington D.C.
Performance through numerous dance competitions in T.J.’s teen years cemented her passion to further pursue a professional career as a dancer. She has received countless scholarships and awards for her articulate ballet technique and her artistic expression. At the age of 11, T.J. was selected to be the leading child role of Clara in Canada’s Ballet Jorgen’s prestigious touring production of THE NUTCRACKER. She received her first professional contract with Canada’s Ballet Jorgen at the age of 17. In 2011, she joined Koba Entertainment, Canada’s leading commercial children’s theatre company (directed by Patti Caplette; former principal dancer with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet). T.J. toured across all of North America , playing countless diverse roles as a dancer and actor with Koba Entertainment. One of her most memorable touring moments was dancing as the lead ballerina in the hit children’s show MAX AND RUBY BUNNY PARTY on Broadway at The Best Buy Theatre in New York City. In 2015, she joined the world’s largest water show; THE HOUSE OF DANCING WATER (created by Franco Dragone) as a dancer, dance captain and leading female character backup.
In 2013, T.J. had the opportunity to broaden her horizons by exploring the world of film and television. She had the great pleasure working as a dancer on the film set; AN AMERICAN GIRL-ISABELLE DANCES INTO THE SPOTLIGHT and T.J. appeared as a Baroque/Court dancer, in the hit TV show, REIGN (CW Network). She has also had the exciting chance to be a magic assistant for one of Britain’s Got Talent finalists, THE DARCY OAKE SHOW.
At THE HOUSE OF DANCING WATER, T.J. lived the perfect dancing dream as she performed 10 shows per week, to an audience of 2000 people each show. This spectacular performance has allowed her to demonstrate her abilities to dance in water, to learn to fall from an 8-meter-high trapeze and to hang from a T-pole above the audience. She is thrilled for the opportunity to have performed the leading female character role; The Princess. This prestigious role also requires scuba diving skills to magically enter and exit the moving stage.
T.J. is passionate and devoted to finding ways to share her love for ballet with the community. Dedicated to passing her knowledge of ballet to the next generation, she has committed much of her time outside of her performing obligations to coaching anyone who would love to explore this exquisite art form. T.J. has taught master ballet classes of all dance levels, to students ranging in ages from 3 to 83 years old. T.J. has coached elite figure skaters from the KW Figure Skating Club and has also volunteered at Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital (oncology floor) to bring the joy of movement to children in need of support with building their physical and emotional strength. While traveling in Bali, she connected with the Ginatri Foundation as a volunteer ballet teacher for underprivileged children in the Villages. With the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic, coaching ballet online and dancing with students across the world has been a special opportunity to stay connected as well as to continue to bring the joy of dance to many communities.
Dream after dream and chance after chance, no matter the circumstance, we can always dance!
